AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco (American professional soccer player) is a striker. She also captains San Diego Wave FC of National Women's Soccer League, the top division of women's soccer in the United States. From 2018 to 2020, she co-captained the women's soccer national team alongside Megan Rapinoe. [8][9] Morgan was drafted by the Western New York Flash at number one in the 2011 WPS Draft. She had completed her studies at Berkeley early. Morgan also played for California Golden Bears. Morgan made her debut as a professional there , and was a key player in helping the team win the league championship. Morgan was 22 when she was chosen to be part of the national team in the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011 in which they came out as runner-up. In the 2012 London Olympics, she scored the winning goal in the 123rd minute of the semi-final match against Canada. She was second in the United States with 21 assists and 20 goals for 2012, which made her the most youthful and sixth-highest prolific athlete in the nation to achieve 20 goals in a single year. After being named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the year Morgan was also a FIFA World Player of the Award finalist. Morgan helped the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was named to the Dream Team in both tournaments. In the year 2019, Morgan won the Silver Boot.
