Aly Raisman

Alexandra Rose Raisman was born May 25, 1994. She is a retired American artistic gymnast. She was the captain of both the 2012 "Fierce Five" and the 2016 "Final Five" U.S. women's Olympic gymnastics teams, who have won individual teams competitions.At the 2012 Olympics in London, she won gold medals in floor and team events, along with the bronze medal on the balance beam, which made her the most recognized American gymnast of the Games. In the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, she won a gold medal in the team competition, making her and her co-teammate Gabby Douglas the sole Americans with back-to-back gold team medals. Raisman was also awarded silver in the all-around individual competition and floor exercise. She is the third most accomplished American gymnast in Olympic history, following Shannon Miller and Simone Biles, with six Olympic medals.Raisman was also a member of the gold-winning American teams at the 2011 and 2015 World Championships, and the bronze medalist in the world championships on floor exercise in 2011. She was also the two-time champion of national competition in floor exercises (2012,2015) in 2012, and the 2012 national champion of balance beam, and five-time medallist in all-around events at national championships (silver and bronze in 2016, 2010, 2011 2012, 2011, and in 2015). She was inducted into the International Jewish Sports Hall of Fame (2013).
