Awkwafina

Awkwafina has been described as an American performer and actor who started her career through innovative raps which addressed the issues of sexuality and race with a the most comical of perspectives. Then she branched out into Hollywood. Nora Lum was born to Chinese Korean immigrants living who resided in Forest Hills Queens. Her first encounter with music was from the trumpet. Apart from classical music and jazz, she started studying hip-hop when she was in her teens. Following a focus on education, she earned an education in journalism at university and also a women's study degree. She didn't start focusing on music until she graduated. Her song My Vag, a response track to Mickey Avalon's My Dick gained viral popularity on the Internet in 2012. The track was later included in her first album Yellow Ranger released in 2014. The album also featured popular hits, including the body positive Queef and winking hometown tour NYC Bitche$. The second track linked into Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide that was published in 2015. This was a different initiative. She opted to pursue acting as a profession following the completion of her previous two projects, as an author and musician. Alongside early TV shows like Girl Code and Tawk she appeared in films like Neighbors 2 Storks as well as Bad Rap. In the year 2018 she scored a number of breakthrough roles, such as Dude Ocean's 8 or Crazy Rich Asians. In June, she debuted her debut film, In Fina We Trust.
